Families and Personal Work at FIND Brighton

Hi everyone!  I feel that I’ve neglected my children and families blog for a while, but here’s a belter to start things off again!  Back in February I attended the Film is not Dead workshop in Brighton.  It is to be the last one that Jonathan Canlas does here in the UK this year and the foreseeable future, as he has made the decision to hold all his workshops in the US.  Those who have followed my blog for a while know how I am just mad for film, so this was my last chance and I was so glad that I did it!  (More of my review can be found on my wedding photography website here).  So the first day we had couples to shoot, then we went for a wonder around Brighton’s streets that night, the second day saw us photographing families, and the nerve-wrecking “touching strangers” session where we had to go up to strangers and pose them with another stranger and make them look like they’ve known each other for years , and the last day was personal work and we were let loose in Brighton to go FIND ourselves.  There are a few of my fellow attendees here too.  I hope you like them!

Oooh, and THEN, we all piled into a Tattoo shop (with the nicest staff I might add) as one of the attendees decided that she would quite like to have a FIND tattoo on her arm, and hey presto, Jon said he’d pay and there we all were, documenting the event!

I also got to finally meet Christian and Erica Ward who run The UK Film Lab, and all these were developed and scanned by their expert hands. Sigh, I did have a good time and wish we could do it all over again!

This post is part of my film friday blog circle so do take a look at my friend Cara’s post to see what’s she’s been up to recently with her film photography and take a look around our small blog circle this month!
